Thank you. Writing the external importer/exporter is still what I'm
trying to do in the long run, but you're probably right that this is a
separate question.

It's ok -- and I understand the difficulty of keeping the docs in sync
between versions.

I will build my own .jar files with ant. Will get back to you if I
encounter any problems with this.
