Hi -- I've been using CVS bbdb with no problems from my work system for some
time now. At work I use Emacs 20.3 and CVS gnus.

On my home linux system, I've been experimenting with using Xemacs-21.7.14
with CVS bbdb and CVS gnus. The Gnus part works fine, so I copied over my
.bbdb file from work. When I try to open a message, though, I get something
like

Signaling: (invalid-read-syntax "#")
  read(#<buffer ".bbdb">)
  parse-bbdb-read()
  parse-bbdb-internal()
  bbdb-records()
  bbdb-message-cache-lookup("<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>")
  bbdb/gnus-update-records(nil)
  bbdb/gnus-pop-up-bbdb-buffer()
  run-hooks(bbdb/gnus-pop-up-bbdb-buffer)
  apply(run-hooks bbdb/gnus-pop-up-bbdb-buffer)
  gnus-run-hooks(gnus-article-prepare-hook)
  gnus-article-prepare-display()
  gnus-article-prepare(16 nil)
  ad-Orig-gnus-summary-display-article(16 nil)
  (setq ad-return-value (ad-Orig-gnus-summary-display-article article all-header))
)
  (let (ad-return-value) (delete-windows-on (get-buffer bbdb-buffer-name)) (setq
ad-return-value (ad-Orig-gnus-summary-display-article article all-header))
ad-return-value)
)
  gnus-summary-display-article(16)
  gnus-summary-next-page(nil)
  call-interactively(gnus-summary-next-page)

I get other errors also, but generally they involve a "#" somewhere. I think
this one might have been generated by bbdb/gnus-get-addresses.

Is it not possible to share a .bbdb file between Emacs-20 and Xemacs-21? Or
is there some lisp format discrepancy I haven't account for somehow?
