Those number aren't really lining up, but I think I know what
you mean. And even though you don't want them to be part of the
document, you can easily script the addition/removal of those
lines; meaning you can have that feature now.
And while I have no interest in that feature (if I ever want to
know the column, I just look at the 'position' indicator and put
the cursor where I want to know the column number), be sure you
send the feature request to BBSW so they can log it for future consideration.
