I understand the rationale for this change, however, I wish it were implemented more like Safari where the width could be reduced, if desired. I frequently work with code in which the original programmer didn't use any sort of line length maximum, so I use full-screen to see the entire line length without wrapping. Under this new scheme, my full-screen windows are the same width as my non-full screen windows, rendering full-screen mode useless for me. If someone wanted to shrink the width of windows in full-screen mode (again, see how Safari does this) but the old behavior remained (window width becomes screen width), I think everyone would be happy (or at least I would).
