I think your comparison is reasonable, but I don't think I'm conflating anything. My intuition is that publicity will be harder to drum up after we've already made some releases, and so we should make our first release as featureful as is reasonable given our resource and time constraints. It might be a flawed intuition; I'm open to argument. (There's a separate problem, which is that I in particular haven't been able to spend much time on BE recently, and so my estimate of how long it might take to merge cfbe and release was way off.
