It's not so much the debian version, as it is the kernel. kernel 3.8.x is different from kernel 4.x. The easiest way to see what is attached it this: root@wgd:~# i2cdetect -l i2c-0 i2c OMAP I2C adapter I2C adapter i2c-1 i2c OMAP I2C adapter I2C adapter i2c-2 i2c OMAP I2C adapter I2C adapter
