Dear Mr. David,

'Flexibility', that's exactly what best-chart is failing in.  In the intraday microcharts, when we
when 'edit list' in 'Portfolio'  as  'CORP.BO'  for "Core Healthcare Ltd." and IDBI.BO for "Intdustrial Development Bank of India Ltd." it appears on the Chart as  '500091.BO' and '500116.BO' .
The user is not free to have name-codes on the charts in place of the number -codes.  I have raised this issue, several time during the last two weeks.  On a page of 40 charts, when a majority of the charts have are with number-codes, it makes identification of the scrips each charts belongs to difficult.

Other issues mentioned in your e-mail aren't as important as this. We would like to have this corrected before attempting anything else.

Thanking you,    Sincerely,      Shyam Raj.

Software design is a trade-off between flexibility (functionality) and
automaticity (user-friendliness).

The more open-ended the designer makes his software, the more powerful
it becomes, but the trade off is that the user generally needs more
expertise, to understand and utilize the power of the additional options.

IMHO, this is a classic example.

The simple way is to have the user select Data Source 1, 2 or 3 (as
was the case in previous versions). Very simple and user-friendly, but
the user has no control over the URLs, because they are pre-programmed.

The flexible way in this case is to have the user enter the URL
manually. Some may see this as a headache, but it only needs to be
performed once.

Perhaps a nice compromise would have been to have some sensible
defaults pre-programmed into the URLs dialog screen, upon installation.

Or, alternatively, to have buttons:
'Data source 1'
'Data source 2'
'Data source 3'
which automatically paste the correct HTTPs into the URLs dialog
screen. That would keep everybody happy...... well, maybe :-)

David
