Dear Mr. Rik Rasmussen,

Thank you very much for writing to me. I take it, you are the Author of Best-Charts software. At the outset I'd like to congratulate you for having created this great software.

I do know that 'Best-Chart' only displays charts provided by Yahoo. Until two weeks ago, the number-codes were not there. There were only name-codes which made identification of the scrips easy.
Without the name-codes, the 'Intra-day microcharts displays are useless.  To get Yaahoo to revert to the earlier format, you have only to write to Yaahoo. Some of the charts do have name-codes; so the change is not technically impossible. It is advantagious as the name-codes have only 4 letters whereas the number-codes have 6-digits. Even more, going back to the earlier format will  restore the utility of your great software and also, this is not going to cost you or Yahoo.

I have paid for your software, after having used your trial version for some time, just for the use of this "Intra-day microchart" with name-codes on the microchart. Without this, I feel I have wasted my money on a useless software ( as I do not need it's other features and also the features in your new version). I did download the new version, hoping that I would get my problem solved by it. Finding that, it only made things complicated, I have uninstalled it.  Knowing that, it is Yaahoo who is responsible for this change, I have been writing to Yaahoo from the day I noticed the change. but without results.
I then had a mail from Best-Chart Yahoo Group, recommending the Best-charts, new version.

It was my reply to this recommendation that has been forwarded to you. In fact I wrote to the Group, hoping that they would get Yaahoo to correct this mistake. I do not think there is any particular purpose or advantage in havilng the number-codes, other that to annoy the users.  Instead of forward my mail to you, the Group should have impressed on the Yaahoo site to see reason and revert from the callous attitude.

Now that you for replied to it, there is something I have to write to you. There is minor but an important addition you can make to enhance the value of "Best Charts".  In the 'Intra-day microcharts',  there are 20 lists, with provision for the user to name the lists. It will be very useful  to the user if the name of the list or at least the list number is displayed on the top of the list, by the side ot the heading "Intraday microcharts". Hoping that you do not have a reason for leaving it so.

Thanking you and with the very best regards,

Shyam Raj,  Cochin,  India.

You are using software that displays what Yahoo provides. Yahoo provides the numeric symbol.

Dear Mr. David,

'Flexibility', that's exactly what best-chart is failing in.  In the intraday microcharts, when we
when 'edit list' in 'Portfolio'  as  'CORP.BO'  for "Core Healthcare Ltd." and IDBI.BO for "Intdustrial Development Bank of India Ltd." it appears on the Chart as  '500091.BO' and '500116.BO' .
The user is not free to have name-codes on the charts in place of the number -codes.  I have raised this issue, several time during the last two weeks.  On a page of 40 charts, when a majority of the charts have are with number-codes, it makes identification of the scrips each charts belongs to difficult.

Other issues mentioned in your e-mail aren't as important as this. We would like to have this corrected before attempting anything else.

Thanking you,    Sincerely,      Shyam Raj.
