If you want to build it up custom and want an American made frame, it
looks great. I'm not a huge fan of the zip tie cable stops, but I
understand that that's so one can run hydros. Regular cable stops with
Avid BB7s would make me like it more. The inboard brake mounting is
sweet. Like all Gunnars, I'll assume the welds are super neat and the
powdercoat is nice and strong. Not bad.


For around the same price you can get an REI safari, an adventure-
touring-commuting rig that also has discs and provisions for mounting
all sorts of racks. Not made in America, of course, but a little less
dear for commuting.

Also might want to consider a Salsa Casseroll for lighter touring, or
even a Surly LHT if you want traditional.

Gunnar's plenty nice, tho.
