$850 It's a terribly smart and weird bike for the price. Only component spec I question are the Shimano mechanical brakes, as my experience with first generation Deore was less than stellar. Easy and inexpensive to swap to Avid BB7s if they disappoint. Also consider a 2009 Kona Dew Drop http://www.konaworld.com/09_dewdrop_en.cfm It's about $800 I ride a custom Kona Dew set up with bars like the Safari as my do- everything bike, fully equipped with racks--and though not fancy--the geometry is bang on, the frame is nice and rigid, and no heroics are needed to fit standard accessories--though with disk brakes outboard a Topeak rack (or similar) would be needed to clear the calipers. The Drop also comes with Avid BB7s which are very nice and easy to live with. On Nov 20, 11:45 am, DaveSunRa <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Thanks. > > Seems like the REI safari is no longer offered.
