Hi, Francois! Happy new year to you too :-). Let's see if we can find out more about your Thunderbird troubles. BTW, I moved this post back to the list, just so everyone can follow the continuation of the thread. > select(1, [0], NULL, NULL, {1779, 830000}) = 1 (in [0], left {1771, 670000}) > gettimeofday({1136133823, 956768}, NULL) = 0 > read(0, "119 close\r\n120 logout\r\n", 1024) = 23 > unlink("./cur/1135754841.14616.saturn.eurofmc.com:2,ST") = 0 > unlink("./cur/1135840509.31663.saturn.eurofmc.com:2,ST") = 0 . . . > unlink("./cur/1136131554.29909.saturn.eurofmc.com:2,ST") = 0 > close(7) = 0 > close(8) = 0 > close(10) = 0 > alarm(1200) = 0 > write(1, "119 OK CLOSE completed\r\n", 24) = 24 It seems at this point that Thunderbird has deleted all these messages in the folder, but hasn't expunged them yet. It's also apparent that this is too late in the process - something has probably gone wrong at an earlier stage. Could you please repeat the strace, but this time attach it right after starting up Thunderbird?
