I'm using Aastra hardware.

In all fairness, I started out working in broadcast sound.  Years of training 
my ears to pick up on little details and distortions.

That may indeed solve things.

Having said that, I would still like to know if anyone has anything faster, 
since I do get the occasional call from someone who wants 24+ channels.
