Hi everyone;
Thanks for all your options and advice.
I have made contact the USDA Animal Damage control yesterday.
He surveyed the whole property line, and look it over for signs to verify
the kind of predator we have. He's got a plan for the area.
I know this will only be temporary, but it will help now and I can make
other changes so when this round of trapping is done the fences will be ready,
and what ever other changes we make. We'll be as ready as we can make them. This
will be a problem we will have to deal with probable for ever, as long as we
have animals. I've found out that our whole area has been hit hard. This trapper
was already working in the area.
The trapper told me I was right, I have every right to shoot a cougar with
the kills we've had and I don't need a tag. I don't know I might get one
anyway.
I never thought of eating the cougar meat. We might have to try that.
Thanks again,
Sandy
