I lost 3 goats and a baby llama a couple of years ago
in the Sierra foothills. I called the state fish and
game department and told them I suspected I was losing
animals to a mountain lion. They came out to
investigate and confirmed that it was a mountain
lion. They then returned the next day with dogs and
treed the lion within 100 yards of our fence. They
removed the critter and advised that he would have
remained at our place and considered it his cafeteria.
The point is there are resourses available and you can
save a lot of effort to get that sort of help.
