Hi Sue, I have Barbados Blackbelly sheep and I obtained a polled ram but he threw horned ram lambs. Therefore he was not what I called a pure Barbados Blackbelly even though he was polled. I sold him for meat and I am in the process of selling ALL of his offsprings. I guess I could register him as polled but I personally do not think that is ethical and/or correct since his bloodline has horns.
I am bring this up wondering if any of the polled sheep on the breeders list have horns in their bloodline. Not that anyone would do this unethically but maybe lack of knowledge. My opinion and my opinion only is that a Barbados Blackbelly sheep should not have any horn genetics.
