There is an article in the ASI manual about ewes giving
birth to dwarf lambs when the ewe was subjected to high
heat stress. My own guess would be that since your lamb
was one of quads and the other surviving two are normal,
that your lamb just didn't have a good placental hookup
and didn't get his share of the nutrients in utero. He just
may grow to full size if he's like human preemies. Or
maybe you have a true "mini". I think the babydoll southdown
sheep were developed from breeding small individuals.
