To be honest, the LiveCD build dropped the BLFS method a long time ago
in favor of the build-method that the mozilla site suggests using a
.mozconfig file and (approximately) the following commands:
Just for the record:
The BLFS build method and the Moz method (moz config stuff may be a
bit different, but not my point) results in the *same exact* end
result.
It might in theory - however in practice (and I'm speaking from
experience here) the BLFS method has not always worked, or provided the
same results. There have been many experiences related (especially on
IRC) of people who can't get the BLFS method to work for them but have
had success with the .mozconfig setup. I've never tracked down the why
behind this, so I'm not prepared to answer that question.
Here's what their site says:
"Running configure and make with the default options will not give you a
good working build. You should use a .mozconfig file to obtain a
reasonable release build. Please read these directions carefully before
building."
Now granted, you don't use *default* options with configure, however are
you sure that you are repeating all the steps that are done via their
client.mk Makefile and using a .mozconfig file? I just don't see how
you can be certain you're getting a nice release-level build if you
aren't following the officially supported build-method.
