That sounds good. So, <xref linkend="dbus"/>, <xref linkend="dbus-glib"/>, etc.? Or just one big <xref linkend="dbus-bindings"/>? Or prefer the individual binding xrefs. The generated tarball[1] I think is pretty much the same as building dbus-1.0.x, then unpacking the dbus-0.6.2 tarball and building the qt3 bindings. That's much more clever than I was thinking. I came around to your original idea to just having a note: "If you're planning on using HAL, it will only check for the uncompressed pci.ids. Be sure to decompress pci.ids.gz after updating, if this is the case. If you'd like to suppress the compression behavior in pciutils completely, pass ZLIB=no when executing make."
