The device nodes you posted before look almost identical to mine and my system works fine. If Totem and Supertux can't access the audio devices, have you added yourself to the audio group?
Yes, all users (well, apart from pkg-users) are in the audio group. Even root. So what device nodes do you have on your system? Would be grateful if you could `ls` it... I think I might try to recompile alsa-lib now, maybe I missed something important.
