Sure. You have hide inactive icons checked. Do the following: 1. Focus on either the start button or taskbar, then press alt enter. The taskbar and start menu properties dialogue box appears. 2. In the taskbar page, there's a check box that says, "hide inactive icons". Tab to that, and press space. This will uncheck the box if it's checked by default and vice versa. 3. Press enter. Note: For vista users, this setting has been moved to a new page called notifications.
