First of all make sure that you do not have "hide inactive icons" in the
notification part of your Taskbar properties. To check this go to Setting
on the Start Menu and then Taskbar properties. Tab down until you hear this
option. If this is checked press spacebar to uncheck. OK out and that
should solve the problem.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] System Tray items not appearing

Hi list,

I have recently had an upgrade of my system. It is Windows XP with Jaws
9.0. Generally I've not had any problems with the upgrade but have noticed
that only one item appears in the System Tray and that's AVG.

For several years I've always put Jaws in the System Tray to clear the
Desktop. Jaws is not on the Desktop and not in the System Tray. There are
other items also missing from the System Tray like Volume and other things:
To get to Jaws I have gone back to using Insert J.

Anyone know what the problem is?

Regards

David
