Just because it's the latest, doesn't make it the greatest.
If you are not required to upgrade for an employment situation or
otherwise,
and what you are using serves your needs, then there is no need to do so.
If you have proper security software in use,the version of IE makes no
difference.
I am still using IE 6, and have no problems, and IE 7 doesn't have
anything
to offer me.
