What I had to do was to find the Dell Touchpad software on the web for my laptop and install it. After I did that I found the Dell Touchpad selection in the control panel under mouse. Just Google Dell Touchpad with your laptop model and you should find the software to install.

Hello Rick, this laptop has no FN key that one could use n combination with
the function keys as do my Inspiron netbook.

This was there before I experienced the password problem I had last week so
not sure if somehow this has been removed.

Want to get it back of would appreciate any work-a-round to turn off that
annoying touchpad that take me all over a document when I am typing.

Hi Steve,
Have you looked in the user's manual?
More than likely, you can toggle this
using the F/N key with one of the function keys.
