Hi all,

Noticed this is a long thread about sharing links without any actual links.

The Steam page for Forza Motorsport is at the link below:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/2440510/Forza_Motorsport/

There's a link to add the Standard Edition to your cart further down on the page. I'd provide the direct link, but it uses JavaScript to add it to your cart. Looks like the Steam version is PC only.

Let's be kind and tolerant on here. Providing links is helpful, and also no one is obligated to take time to put together resources. It's hard enough to be a blind gamer, let's make things as easy as possible for one another.

Cheers,
Patrick

Your point is well taken. I too have seen this on lists although there is a cooking list I'm on currently where there are people who will respond favorably to questions like "How do you knwo if the meat is b rowned fully?" So yes I get that and understand the need in cases like that. I generally search for things on my own before bringing questions to a list. But I know many people who don't and it's not always their fault but I know a lot of visually impaired and blind people who really don't bother to search and I guess I was reacting to past experiences of that kind of thing. So I think we probably both are making valid points and thinking of certain situations we have had. I remember asking one time on a list how I could email someone a link and was told to copy and paste it into my message. Well that didn't work. I never did figure that out. If I could make it work I probably would send links especially if I knew what they were and it wasa quick and easy thing to do. So I would maybe write out the website or the name of the product the person was looking for or whatever and then they'd write back and say "But would you send the link?" Really? How hard is it to type in the website name, go to the search box and then type in the item you want? So I guess I was reacting to things like that which have happened to me where it was clearly laziness or something on the part of the person who was asking for the links. Obviously if someone has tried searching and it hasn't worked then of course go to lists. I have tried reading difficult to understand documentation and other such things and then gone to lists with questions or I'd ask for recommendations related to gaming or other things and get basically no help so I do know how that is too. So anyway I certainly meant no insult and I don't believe I was being insulting. Just as I don't know people's life experiences and what has made them react in a certain way neither do they know mine. Hopefully as we share that will help us all to better understand and be more tolerant of each other wherever
we are at in terms of knowledge, tech experience etc.

Ann: You are so, so right! Another thing that these people aren’t considering it that, just maybe, we have tried searching and did not get the result we wanted. I joined a cooking list that was specifically for blind people that was to give tips to blind cooks. Stuff like, instead of saying “cook until golden brown” they would give an approximate cooking time. It go the point where people would ask for a recipe, and responders would merely copy from the web and paste. No tips at all for blind cooks. I griped when being blasted about asking for recipe modifications. I left after having been a list member for about 10 years. This tread has become pretty much the same. And it is all over a simple request that would have taken less time
then sending messages telling us to Google.

 Hi folks,

This thread is on the verge of getting very nasty, so this will be my only message
 here.

But, what is the point of having a mailing list only to be told 'Google, google, google, and then to be called lazy if you don't or if you disagree about being lectured on doing internet searches? I did not join mailing lists of any sort to be told constantly to do internet searches or to search before you dare take up our precious
time by writing to us on the list.

I've seen this so much on other mailing lists in the last few years, and I had hoped this list would be spared all that, but apparently not. 😞

Yes that is why I made this post in hopes that people would pervade links to these things instead of like you said just telling them to ook them up on
google. So I agree with that. from Mich.

My personal opinion is that if someone asks, specifically, for links, and you know them, you should provide them, rather than merely suggest that the person look them up on Google. That would be far more helpful, which is the purpose of the list. After all, there are times when it is still difficult to
quickly and easily find something through a Google search.

Have you tried searching on Google for something like "forza motor sport pc game"? That's what I always do and it usually finds what I'm looking
for unless the game isn't on the PC.
