A couple of reasons.  All the walls and ceiling of the garage is sheet 
rocked, and it gets real cold in the winter and real hot during the summer 
once the sun hits the metal door.  Not only will the styro foam sheeting 
keep some of the heat out,  it will muffle some of the noise when the door 
is being opened or closed.  Another reason is my bar and ham shack is in the 
garage.
