Even I went out and got a pipe and stuck a dowel in it earlier. I think I'll try a square stick in it tomorrow though. Also, will probably stick a rubber washer on the bolt once I find one of those which will work. The click rule is a tube with a threaded bolt pulled up inside it with a wheel on top which has a slot to slide along. There is a beebee milled into the end of the tube, which is evidently spring fed or held down, and as you push the threaded bolt out, the beebee allows a click for every sixteenth of an inch. The bolt is also flattened on top and bottom and there are raised marks at every half inch. ----- Original Message ----- From: Tom Vos To: blindhandyman@yahoogroups.com Sent: Thursday, November 19, 2009 6:49 PM Subject: RE: [BlindHandyMan] Another measuring device
I don't know much about click rules, but I'm guessing from the name that there are a definite number of click stops. Is that right? My idea was to have a device that allows for an infinite degree of adjustment, not being limited to any set stops. I also get some satisfaction out of building something useful myself.
