They are similar but technically there is a difference. I have built a lot of golf clubs using graphite shafts, but only a few carbon fiber shafts. I couldn't give an accurate difference between the 2 types, because they are both light weight and obviously if you can put a steel head on the end of one and swing at over 100 MPH to hit a golf ball and the shaft doesn't break, they are very durable.
If I was to guess, I'd say the graphite might be more flexible than carbon fiber. But that's a guess. Both are strong. ----- Original Message ----- From: Jerry Richer To: blindhandyman@yahoogroups.com Sent: Tuesday, March 23, 2010 8:24 AM Subject: Re: [BlindHandyMan] Ambutek graphite canes? Is graphite the same as carbon fiber? I bought two carbon fiber, two piece folding canes from NFB last Fall. They're great! The two halves are connected by an alastic cord but they're still very light and strong. I could even lean on them if needed or use them as a weapon. Only $10. Inexpensive when compared to their six piece telescoping carbon fiber canes for $35. Jerry [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
