A development: I tried to connect the music source to sb.com instead of the NAS. I waited some time for the connection, but gave up and then activated the NAS as a source again (dunno if it was fully disconnected, though) and upon connection, the volume went to 100% again. So it seems connecting to the NAS (as it does every morning when the NAS has started up) activates full volume. I see I wrote the first post on Aug 16 and that the .QLMS.conf file is dated Aug 5. Aug 5 I upgraded LMS to 8.20, then came a weekend and a full working week when I heard the buzz from the Boom and full volume of the Win7 startup sound on the Boom. Another weekend and then the 100% volume on Monday morning Aug 16 and I wrote the first post after lunch. So, can it be the LMS version? Dunno if I want to downgrade and try :) it's like opening a can of Murphy's worms.
