The major benefit of vi for me has been as a sysadmin - I couldn't
imagine using Emacs for day-to-day sysadmin tasks.  So I'd say, for a
quick trip to the mall (e.g. sysadmin editing of files - quick,
efficient) go with the Beetle but for a day-long cruise (e.g.
programming) go with the Crown Vic.
