Hi All,

Seeing as the PK manual talks about turning the PK off with the c1 and c4,
rather than just with the c4, when putting it in storage for awhile, I'm
wondering if perhaps the person who had this problem just turned the PK off
with the c4 only? Of course, I'm not saying that is what happened, but just
wondering if turning it off with the c1 and c4 when putting it in storage
would make any more difference than using the c4 only?

Subject: [Braillenote] Important: PK battery warning

Hi all PK users

I just got my PK back from a service and was given some interesting
information.

Apparently, unlike the other BrailleNotes, the PK cannot be left fully
uncharged for a prolonged length of time. If the batteries are left
completely flat for a while, the lithium cells will lock and won't allow the
battery to charge again. I have actually seen this happen to another PK
which could not be charged, or even switched on, after it had been left flat
for a few weeks.

I don't know exactly how long the batteries can last before the lock, but it
is something to bear in mind if you plan to leave your unit unplugged or in
storage for a long time.

Cheers

Kylie
