Hi there. Are you using a broadband or wireless connection? If broadband, you will need to purchase a network card, and set it up from there. These cards can either go in your pcmcia slot, or in your compact flash card slot. That is, the slot at the back. If anyone can further enlighten us both, further help would be much appreciated. Cheers, Blake Ison.

Subject: [Braillenote] connecting to the web/email on BN MPower

Hello all,

I have been using the BrailleNote MPower for the past year. I
cannot figure out how to connect to the internet or use email on the BrailleNote. I have looked through the user guide on the machine and am still lost. I am not all that technological with computer language/terminology.

On my PC, I have internet service through Charter Communications
which is a cable internet service (like the TV), and it is not dial-up. Unfortunately, the router in my house is not wireless.

I cannot figure out how I can connect to the internet or email
with the BrailleNote. Does anyone know if this is possible with my PC set-up? Or can the BrailleNote only use a dial up connection?

I also would like to be able to access the web/email on my BN
from school and other places outside of my home.
If my home computer only has a wired router, would I need to pay
for a second internet service/provider? Or how does the mobile thing work with a cable internet connection?

I'm still totally lost, so any help/suggestions would be
appreciated and helpful.

p.s. I have no problem with the information fields to enter
text, I am just lost on what I need to do and how to go about it.

Thanks, Benjamin
