Ottawa Canada Dear Benjamin:
Normally a cable modem has several, like four Ethernet sockets (places to plug connecting tables to computers) on it. To use the Internet with your BrailleNote, you can either buy the low-power Ethernet adapter that plugs into your CF card slot on the BrailleNote and connect it by cable to your cable modem or router, or if you prefer wireless operation, buy the wireless B adapter CF card and buy a wireless router or cable modem. The cable modem or router you plug your various computers and BrailleNote into handles sorting out the traffic on the modem and routing it to where it is supposed to go. So no you don't need two cable modems to use two computers on the Internet. Humanware does sell the required low power Ethernet CF adapter as well as WIFI wireless cards for the BrailleNote but you often can obtain much better prices elsewhere. Humanware provides these cards as a convenience to its customers. Hope this helps. Brian Brian K.
