Hi Nicky
I would like to know where the faster processor is hidden?
Resets can be very frustrating!
The Apex is nice to write with and the display is fantastic!
The way it does operate is somewhat disappointing!
How have you found eloquence?
Best to you!
Peter

display
Hi Peter and list,
Sorry to hear about this problem. Overall I'm very pleased with
my new Apex, but I have to agree with you about the processor. I
did a few tests opening fairly large files on the mPower and the
Apex, and there was virtually no difference. I was thinking that
perhaps it was just my units, but you seem to be having the same
experience. As I said, I'm generally very pleased with the Apex
and it's certainly much more stable when I'm browsing on the
Internet.
I had a similar problem to yours the other day, when my Apex
locked up and the resets wouldn't work. I turned the unit off,
removed the battery and then replaced it. It immediately came
back to life and all was well. Glad the reset with the record
button worked for you. On the whole I have to reset my Apex far
less often than my mPower.
Best,
Nicky

I was downloading an m p 3 on the Apex, coincidentally! I found
that the m-Power could successfully download it, but the Apex
"failed".
I ended up having to use the record and reset buttons.
I'm disappointed in how eloquence performs and there doesn't
seem
to be much evidence of a faster processor.

Have you tried all configurations of resets? Is the reset button
stuck
down? Service reset? What were you doing when it first froze?

I pressed the reset button on my Apex.
After a few seconds main menu was on the display. That's all
that's now
happening!
Hitting the space bar, scroll wheel, thumb keys, nothing
happens. Turning
the unit off, main menu is still on the display.
Pushing the reset button, still main menu on display but nothing
else.
Any ideas!!??
Peter.

Subject: re: [Braillenote] possible bug in planner: appointments
on same day
Hi:
I use the KeyPlan calendar for 5 to 8 appointments
every day and have not had the problem you identify.
I'm still using KeySoft 7.5 on a BT 18 mPower.
I hope that this problem gets resolved for you soon.

Subject: [Braillenote] possible bug in planner:
appointments on same day
Mpower bt 32, ks 8 build 20.
When I put two appointments on the same day, for
example one at 3:00
and one at 4:00, the first appointment reads fine,
but the second and
later appointments appear to place an unwanted line
break in the
title. Thus, if the 3:00 appointment is with George
Jones, then
George Jones is pronounced as I would expect. But
if the 4:00
appointment is with Katie Jones, the bn, whether I
use kng or
eloquence, says the appointment title is "Kati every
Jones". When I
use space with dot 3 to go back over the word
"Katie", which appears
as one word on the display, KS tells me that there
is a "line break"
between the i and the e in Katie. If the 4:30
appointment, for
example, is with Touchy Jones, then KS says "Too
chee", and again
moving character by character indicates a line break
between the
ou sign and the ch sign in "touchy".
My working theory is that the planner forgets to
start the second and
later appointments on a new line, so that even short
words in the
title are or can be broken by a line break, at
least as far as the
translator and speech are concerned; and this occurs
even though the
word looks unbroken on the braille display.
Has anyone had similar experiences or found a
work-around?
Steve
