Thanks, Jonathan. I would assume that that would save me a lot of time as I
would not have to delete all marked messages then remove them from
the trash. Is this correct? The longest part of dealing with a lot of
messages is deleting all marked messages.

Paul, yes there is. Once you hear a subject of a message and you don't
wish to even open it, press control with 8 on a QT keyboard, or backspace
with dots 2-3-5-6 on a BT. This will immediately zap the message to trash.
