<grimace> I'm harping here, but I have to say that I
would not be able to sleep well either without knowing
that I have the means to defend myself. You simply do
not feel safe or secure when you've wakened to find a
stranger standing in your bedroom doorway. (Well,
when I had a boyfriend who was a martial arts
practitioner as well as an experienced marksman, I
*did* sleep quite securely... ;) ) Having been both
assaulted and in severe accidents, I can personally
say that therapy is quite effective for accident
trauma, but residuals from assault continue for -
well, ever. Not crippling, mind you, but definitely a
factor in the back of your mind.
