Speaking for Flyght Club, we use Winter League to coax new students to the outdoors. It's rarely the tour team that plays. Often our winter league teams were either split evenly or based on our student teams and often featured random pickups like Dave Sealy or Alli Smith who are clearly not Flyght Club calibre ;). It wasn't anywhere near the same team that goes to tour. While we do feel that at Nationals we sort of jiggled the knob on the back door of top 16, walked in, grabbed a glass of champagne and mingled unnoticed, if you ask abstract we did put up a good fight to be there.
While I don't agree that considering xWL performance in Tour seedings makes sense I do agree that it doesn't take much to see that Discuits are going to rock this year and possibly should have been dropped straight into top 16.
