I'm probably going to regret this but here goes: "We can probably agree to cut some teams in the B tour some slack but teams in the A tour? Teams playing in the semis and finals of what is supposed to be the UKUA's showcase events?"
We played all 3 teams that were in the semi's at some point over the weekend and from memory they all had matching kit (although to be fair i didn't make note of each individuals shorts as was to busy concentrating on the game as opposed to whether he had blue or navy coloured shorts), either way the kit was close enough for us not to have problems competing against them so why should it bother you?! I think one player in our semi against Clapham did not have a matching shirt (from memory he was a guest) but he wore a shirt which matched in colour and i think that is fair enough - i certainly wouldn't of expected him to fork out for a top for the sake of one weekend..... All but one of the teams in the top four had a new kit this season (Fire had the same kit as last year) so to say that any of us didn't have matching kit is a tad unfair (even Leeds had it with their wonderful new logo ;o) ) - maybe one player didn't have exactly the same style shirt/shorts as the other players on his team but remember we are not professionals but players who fund ourselves to play this sport.... as long as there are no major differences then let it lie..... there are bigger issues to deal with than whether a player had the same style shirt/shorts as another player. I was appalled at the number of teams playing the A tour that weren't wearing matching kit in accordance with the Tour rules: http://www.ukultimate.com/open/tour_rules.aspx#Kit We can probably agree to cut some teams in the B tour some slack but teams in the A tour? Teams playing in the semis and finals of what is supposed to be the UKUA's showcase events? Does the UKUA intend on enforcing the kit rules or are the there purely for show? Many people, myself included, had family and friends spectating at Tour 3. It's embarrassing to our sport that we can not present our selves in a professional way. If we are serious about promoting our sport and growing it to its full potential then we must make sure to get our image right. Teams being lazy about their kit isn't good enough. Spectators and staff at the venues notice these things, we post photos of events online for the world to see. Our image is important, let's do better at Tour 4 and Nationals.
