Well said Rich & Dan - there are solutions to the problem of less
ability to seed: broader initial pools, crossovers at different stages
etc - and the conversation should address those rather than telling
people to suck it up.

Ultimate has come a long long way in this country since the days when
there were 16 teams in the whole country and the pools were based on
someone's guesswork. Let's not stop the innovation and improvement!

IMHO the solution for the B Tour lies in something mentioned in earlier
discussions - regionalise it. Every other sport (AND this sport in
countries where it is more mature) regionalise it, we should be looking
very closely at that alternative. If Tour B North and Tour B South were
each < 20 teams they would be easier to seed and compose schedules for
which allowed for mistakes and dropouts.

Best wishes Frisbee flingers everywhere!

Why? How about shit happens, let's try to make sure it doesn't happen
next
time?

At Tour 1B Fire 2 were seeded top. This was an educated decision.
I suspect what the Hucker's would have preferred would have been another
educated decision where there wasn't a under seeded team in their pool
(I
saw the Wizards' seeding (23rd) before the weekend and saw an issue
arising
- I'm suspecting I wasn't alone).

It's true that if you lose to a particular team you are not worthy to
finish
higher than them, but the point is that you might finish lower than a
team
you were better than but weren't given a shot at because of the under
seeded
team in your pool in the first place.

Often when someone raises an issue people are very happy to jump down
their
throats but the fact is these issues do often only come to light when
there
is something imperfect. No one rocks the boat when everything is just
dandy! Dan's original argument was one the best constructed 'complaint'
emails I've seen in a while (mine included) and certainly deserve more
than
the negative and dare I say it narrow-sighted replies that Simon and
Alistair sent back.

A Tour but still listening to the B Tour.
