It begins with ... --- auctex-13.3/bib-cite.el ... +++ auctex-13.3-modified/bib-cite.el ... ... , which means that he is playing with AUCTeX 13.3 source (probably, installation from ELPA). I used patch -p1 < indirect2.patch in the top directory of the local git repo and took care of the rejected hunks manually.
