Hi,
I would like to ask other people from/around Delhi if they have seen any Red
Pierrots (Talicada nyseus) recently. I had been seeing a few in S. Delhi
consistently since 2004 - esp. post monsoon - and then last year there was a
sudden explosion - they were everywhere and even people not otherwise too
interested in critters would point them out to me and ask about them. I also
found them - for the first time - in Aligarh, 120 km away. They were present in
large numbers till about mid May.
But this monsoon and after - nothing - not one. What is others' experience?
It is particularly interesting because historically this is not a Delhi species
and is completely missing from earlier checklists.
