Thanks! Yes, in general butterflies have been fewer post-monsoon this year. For example, I have seen rather few Common Mormons & Lime Butterflies - and both are usually numerous. And I have seen no Common Jays and the last few years at least they have been fairly common too. On the other hand, I kept finding good numbers of Common Silverlines, Lime Blues and Plains Cupids...

I had posted one in august 2008. In Gurgaon, this year butterflies have been scarce and I think I have spotted this entire year just one and none after monsoon. The long and hard summer has been tough on butterflies and insects-there are few visible this year unlike last year which had good and sustained monsoon unlike the 4 day downpour this year. Hope this helps Janaki Turaga --- On Tue, 11/10/09, Amber Habib <a_ha...@yahoo. com> wrote: >From: Amber Habib <a_ha...@yahoo. com> >Subject: [ButterflyIndia] Red Pierrots in Delhi >To: butterflyindia@ yahoogroups. com >Date: Tuesday, November 10, 2009, 3:44 PM > > > >Hi, > >I would like to ask other people from/around Delhi if they have seen any Red >Pierrots (Talicada nyseus) recently.
