No.  It doesn't matter unless you are designing graphical objects for a 
UI (e.g. icons, logos, etc.).  But that sort of thing is best left to 
actual graphics designers.  Syntax highlighting is nice but not required 
to program.  You can be fully blind and program - it is just text on a 
screen after all.
