We have been down this path before i.e. the installer on SXCE and the 
requirement to setup Kerberos and other things were considered to be a 
major issue.  With OpenSolaris, you have a different set of options.  As 
has been mentioned before, one can use Distro Constructor and create a 
customized iso.   So the pkg selection issue has been addressed, albeit 
differently.
