Really, it is just that. Set the IP statically, setup Kerberos, setup DNS, set the default route... The text installer with these options would be great. But.... I believe I'm moving this discussion in the wrong direction (maybe still helpful). The real issue at hand for me is having to install from the live install CD then having to connect the system to the internet (not always possible) to get the packages you need or install a local repository ~8GB to get the packages you need (may only need 2 or 3 packages). The live install wouldn't be so bad if you could manually download and install (pkgadd) the packages you need instead of having to use the installer. I've heard that at some point this may be available. But, having the packages available at install time, for me, would be the best and most productive option.
