<!---->We have been down this path before i.e. the installer on SXCE and the requirement to setup Kerberos and other things were considered to be a major issue. With OpenSolaris, you have a different set of options. As has been mentioned before, one can use Distro Constructor and create a customized iso. So the pkg selection issue has been addressed, albeit differently. <--->
Here is the deal... I'd be happy to stay with SXCE but it is my understanding that that distro is ending. I guess I don't see what the issue is with having the option to chose whether you want the live install or a manual install (like SXCE). The manual install of SXCE is excellent just like Solaris has been over the years. The Distro Contructor.... We'll I guess I'll have to figure out how to use it and so will everyone else who wants to do a "customized" install. With OpenSolaris, you'd think you should be able to name the system at install time instead of having to jump through hoops to rename it. Anyways, thanks for your input.
