While the example in Sanjay's blog certainly works, the "official" way 
to add more packages to an image
is to specify them in the <packages> section of the manifest you are 
using to build your image.

The install team does not have the time/resource to figure out what's 
the minimum set of packages
required for a bootable Open Solaris image at this time.
Some users have done some hacking on that, and they discussed about it 
in this alias.

Please note that we only have a GUI installer at this time.  so, if your 
image doesn't
include some sort of a desktop, you won't be able use the GUI installer 
for your image.
