General - Looks nice! - There are OK buttons on the first two panels and then Next/Back buttons on subsequent panels. Why not just have a Next button on the first two panels for consistency? Also, just a nit, but the arrow on the OK button seems to point back instead of forward. - The first two panels (language and kb layout) were painted higher up on the screen than subsequent panels. The welcome panel and those after were drawn at a lower point and, for my laptop, extended off the screen. I tried moving the window up so I could see the entire thing, but when I clicked next, the next panel moved back to the original position. I had to manually move each panel or else couldn't access the buttons. Similarly, if I change the position of the window and then resize (which I had to do for the timezone panel), the window moves back to where it originally started. - Is there an install log? How will the user know where it is? - Does the system reboot automatically? Or will the user be prompted? Quit - Maybe give a warning asking if user really wants to quit? License - You can accept the license without looking at it. Has legal bought into this? - If I try to install without accepting the license, the popup says "Do you consent to license agreement". It would be better to have that text match the text next to the license box (i.e., either both say "consent" or both say "accept the terms") Language - Are we no longer doing Geos?? (next three comments may be demo limitations, but will mention anyway) - If I select to install in French, it would be nice if French was automatically selected by default on the language panel and possibly be made the default language. - If I deselect all, everything is deselected. Shouldn't English (or something) stay selected so there can be a default language? - Similarly, if I select Japanese and make that the default, then click deselect all, the default language remains as Japanese. Seems like it should revert to English. Users - "Re-enter to check for typing errors" is ok, but I like "Re-enter to verify" better. Install - I didn't enter user info, so I have a yellow warning triangle to the right of "User account information not entered" But higher up, next to the disk information, there is a yellow triangle that says "Warning: The partition will be erased". It was slightly confusing because it made me think for a moment that the yellow triangle at the bottom was being explained by the yellow triangle at the top (i.e., having an asterisk, and then the asterisk definition somewhere else). Upgrade - The existing installer allows you to add languages during an upgrade. Don't see that ability in the demo. - Maybe change text from: Review the settings below before installing to Review the setting below before upgrading Left Panel - Should one be able to navigate by clicking on the items on the left (Welcome, Disk, Timezone, etc)? Or is that there mostly as a todo/reference list? Sue
