Hi Dave,
I agree about the heads-up/flag-day needing to be aggregated. I've
got in progress a relatively general automated solution which should work
for any Pipermail archived e-mail list (i.e. caiman-discuss). However, the
problem of publishing the results is non-trivial as I don't have ready
access to a webserver on which to run the script and publish the result
which is external.
Similarly, we have a build page (again only internal due to the
publishing issues) where pushes are aggregated by HG build tag. I can roll
the heads-up/flag-day messages into this output too which would provide a
nice single source of information.
I would like to see this solution automated, however, I'm not sure
where I can post the generated HTML automatically outside right now. This
could possibly be done with minimal manual intervention on OpenSolaris.ORG
or wikis.Sun.COM but would use still use e-mail as the authoritative
information source with a link to the e-mail thread for further
investigation by interested folks - this also frees us from potential
future wiki migrations.
Does this sound like a potential interim solution? As soon as I
get some CSS work done on the output I can provide an example of the
current script's output.
Thank you,
Clay
