I've kind of played with this.

You can actually start the AI install using a Solaris 10 based install 
server. You only actually need the OpenSolaris component
when the machine has booted and does the mdns broadcast looking for an 
Install_Service.

Looking at the installadm commands, I'd imagine its in the roadmap to 
specify a different location for the
dhcp and tftp server.

Co-existence does not seem to be a problem.
