Sounds like your time was in the good days when Weekly Benefit Savings were in place and you used to go in like the sweeney, stop all benefit and wait for them to re apply. I remember that but now it is totally different, example I can suggest the benefit should be stopped as the claimant has £175,000.00 in several bank accounts, our benefit assessor looks at the case and says before I cancel the claim, I need to let DWP that this money has been found, until DWP agree the benefit could (possibly) be in payment. Oh bye the way above is true case I found a couple of months ago. Believe benefits now stopped and working out the overpayment.
